Engine Cover Removal

I have a 1999 Express 1500 4.3L. I can't see an obvious way to remove the engine cover. Since all parts are plastic and expensive, i'd like to know what i'm doing when I go to remove it. I have a slow leak in the A/C system and need to get to the system to trace the leak.
