I think this patriotic M12 sold for about $150,000 in some year 2000 dupont registry. It had engine mods along with extirior mods!

Actually, it came from the factory just like that. That was Vectors showcar for awhile, chassis #1.

The "Stars and Stripes" Vector was painted like that when they took it on the show circuit, promoting the American Supercar.

The M12 was launched in 1996 and there weren't any 1995 Vectors. The W8 was produced between 1990 and 1993.
Just a question, but why are those pictures of the Vector called "current" pictures? They haven't made any Vectors in years.

Now that Vector's been absent for a while, they have other American Supercars (I'm thinking like S7 and MT900) to compete against, not to mention the new international Supercars.
And those pics are ancient. I've had the jet-fighter one on my HD for almost 4 years now...

Hey lowridder11, that top picture in your M12 cluster is the WX-3 coupe. Just wanted to make sure no one mistaked it for an M-12. It was the car that helped to insopire the M-12, but it is a much idfferent vehicle.

Vectors get their cool looks because they were modeled after fighter jets. That's why the hood is short. It's super aerodynamic.

Vectors aren't very aerodynamic...they just LOOK that way.

Hudson is right about the aerodynamics having issues. They are more aerodynamic then many cars, but cars such as the XJ220, McLaren F1, the new Ferrari Enzo and the new Lamborghini put Vectors to shame in terms of aerodynamics.

they would probably lift of the ground at around 200mph

I don't think so. The large rear wing and the openings in the body right behind the tires would probably help suck it to the ground.

i saw a W8 video on kazaa where it lifted of at about 200mph or 210mph

A video with a Vector W-8 lifitng has been a rumor for many years. Everytime someone claims they have seen it, no one can find it. I have yet to find a Vector W-8 owner that confirm any such video and all them claim they would never try a top speed attempt. The Vector W-8s know to the Vector Aeromotive Club do not show any sign of ever lifing off the ground. One was damaged in a container while being shipped. Other damaged W-8s was caused by fneder benders, not high speed attempts. Until this video is found and there is proof that any speeds shown on the screen are for real, I would not except this as fact.
It is known early W-8s had aerodynamic issues. This is why additional ground affects was added and sun roofs sealed on later production W-8s. With only 17 production W-8s and 2 pre-production W-8s, I can't imagine anyone would put their W-8 in danger by driving at ultra high speeds. Most of the owners I know, just like the low end thrust of the W-8.

If only a magazine like Road&Track or Car&Driver could get some official tests done. That would surely answer a lot of questions.

i am 1 of the few who have seen it. It is on kazaa. It's of a racing W8 in white comin out of a turn and hitting a strait away doin like 200-210mph and just the front end lifting off and it flippin, crashing, and breaking into 2 peices

It's of a racing W8 in white
The only race cars ever built by Vector Aeromotive, was an M-12, and it was white. There is no records of any W-8 race car.

I know the histories of the white W-8s. They have never been broken in two or involved in any racing event. The chassis of the W-8 was built like a tank. Until I see this video and get a date when it was filmed, I can only say there is proof that it is not legit.

well, maybe instead of bitchin about it, search 4 it on kazaa like i did. I was sceptical about it untill i finally found it and saw it. And i watched it more carefully, the W-8 didn't snap in half, the hood or sumthing full of on impact

If anyone was wondering about the Vector Aeromotive Club site, it lives. The message boards have just been put online and more images are on the way. Any fans are encouraged to stop by. The more fans that stop by, the more ammo the club has to encourage new media projects based on Vector such as books, videos, and more.

Thanks. I already have had one former Vector post on the board. Some of the others whom I have exchanged e-mails with may start posting as well. Hopefully as the months pass, more and more former employees will start posting.
