1994 thunderbird engine swap

i have a 1994 thunderbird 4.6-V8 auto, looking to swap out the 4.6 for a 5.0 mustang engine, wondering how the 5.0 would fit and how much needs to be changed over if anyone has done the swap or has info on it would be greatly apreciated.

I wouldn't do it. Put in a 4.6 dohc, 4.6 PI, or a 5.4 triton. Its easier and you can get just as much power out of em.http://www.geocities.com/v8thunder54/triton.html:popcorn:

To swap in a 5.0 you would need the computer and wiring harness from the mustang and the engine mounts from an earlier 5.0 MN12 (1989-1992) Thunderbird or Cougar.

you hve to get the oil pan from the older car as well and more than likely take a grinder to k member to help the rear lip clear the oil pan.
