Altima vs. Accord

I've pretty much decided my next car will be either a 4-banger Altima or an Accord, 97-01ish. I prefer something japanese, good on gas and reliable, but not a crappy subcompact, and not a Camry, so these are my choices basically. I'm leaning towards the Altima since it'll probably be cheaper, what else should I consider? Yes, I know both suck, but just bear with me here.

haven't heard anything bad about the altima, its a got a bit more power than the accord. i prefer the accord body style though. can't go wrong with either choice.

if you're gonna get an altima go for a 2002 or later if possible, with the QR25 motor. the earlier ones with ka24 motors are dogs.

I dunno, I prefer the looks of the preceding model, especially the rear, plus it's bound to be cheaper. The 2.5 Altima is probably more power than I really need....

then i would go with the accord. it's better on gas, looks better, will be more reliable and/or cheaper to repair, and will hold its value better.

Looks-wise I think the Accord looks too similar to the Camry of the same yr.
How are Altimas to drive though?

are you talking 2 door or 4 door. because if it is 2 door go with the accord it looks better and if your talking 4 door go with the accord it still looks better.:icon16:

i loved my accord. not into the "ricer" thing, but for basic transportation it was the best car i've ever owned. cv joints and timing belt were all the maintenance i had to have done (aside from the basic stuff, which i did myself)
