entering radio code

Hi everyone, I am new to this, I just purchased a 96 Accord EX, and it had to be jump started. I noticed that the radio would not work. He assured me that it does work. He told me that I would have to put in a code, that was in the glove box. I checked, and there is a card with a code, so I tried to put it in, but the radio still won't work. He said to leave the radio on for an hour, then try it again. Does he mean to leave the key on with the radio on? Sorry if I sound stupid. Any help or suggestions would be really helpful. Thanks.

The radio needs to be on for an hour for another chance to enter codes.

If leaving the car setting, use ignition switch position I or accessory. That will allow the radio to stay on.

Even easier, remove the "back-up" fuse from the under hood fuse box for 15 seconds. Put the fuse back in and re-enter the code. No waiting an hour to kill your battery again!

Thank you both for your information. I did finally get the STUPID thing to take the code. Again, thank you both very much. Dale Jr Fan.
