So, as of now I have a 2001 Grand Am (hate it.) but am looking to buy an Eclipse Spyder in the near future, but am completely clueless about a cars worth. The car I'm currently looking at is a 2003 Spyder, 36k miles, titanium pearl color, 4 cylinder, auto and they're asking $12,900 for it..but the only things wrong with it that I noticed was there is a stain on the passenger seat (which really isn't a big deal to me), and there is a crack in the dashboard (from the top of the passenger airbag to the windshield). The car dealer told me it was from being a Florida car in the heat and that it wouldn't cause any damage or problems later on...
Aaaaanyway, I guess what I'm getting at, is is that a good price for that car, as well as any information about the dashboard dilemma. Thanks for any help!!!

I would stay away from Mitsubishi products in general because of their reliability, but if you have your heart set on an eclipse, the best way to approximate price is to go to the kelley blue book website (www.kbb.com) and do a free price lookup.
Cracks in the dashboard can be problematic. They tend to grow. A modern, newish dash shouldn't crack on its own in Florida heat. It is probably either low build quality or abuse.
Ultimately the car is worth what you will pay for it. I would haggle with them and stress those two issues you have with it. If they don't get it to a price you like I would walk away.
