Sell them both and buy a turbo automatic. The ECU is different on the manual car, plus there are wiring and cross member differences between those models, so you really can't.

aww man that sucks i wanted to keep the auto for now till i get out of school and i build the motor. but i guess ill slap the manual in there and let it eat. and about the cross member i got the whole car can i just unbolt the cross member and bolt it on my NA car? this is my first engine swap ever im only 16 but my dads a toyota technision and he did a lot of work on mk3 supras (the natorious head gasket) lol so just wondering if i could just unbolt and install on the other car.

The biggest problem isn't bolting it in. The fun part is transplanting all of the electrical from the old car to the new. Save yourself a headache and just find a turbo auto. I am sure you can buy a decent one for the money you get from selling the two you have.

Now, if it is your intent to do a build up then pull the turbo motor and start your build. Drive the NA car until the motor is ready. Then do your swap, however, if you want an automatic car then you will have to find a turbo automatic for the donor. You can run a manual trans with the auto ECU, but it doesn't work the other way around.

i read on another forum that only some of the plugs are different. so all i have to do is lay both of them next to each other and swap the differents ones right? i got the 88 for free it was abandined on the side of the road and my 91 i bought in augest as my first car and its in to good of shape to let go. so if i swap the plugs it sould work right i think the furom said it was like only 10 plugs right.

i also just read on another forum that the motor mounts changed after 89 to newer JZ mounts i think that is false? i mean if they where jz then a 2jz and 1jz would drop into them no problem and i know that aint true lol

It isn't just a matter of switching out the connectors. You will have to transplant all of the electronics that run the motor, and then splice the engine harness into the body harness on your car. You will have to take the motor mounts off of your curent engine and put them on the engine you are swapping in. Now, since your donor is a manual trans you will have to swap in the trans, clutch pedal assy, brake pedal assy, clutch master cyl, slave cyl, ect. from the old car. The MT ECU cannot run your auto trans, so you have no choice in the matter. You will also have to use the drive shaft off of the donor car. You should also swap out the diff from the turbo car as well. Hell, it is almoast easier to take your nice interior and put it in the old car then to swap all the mechanical into the new car. This is no small job, and you should plan on being without transportation while the swap is in progress.

The 1JZ does fit the later model sub frame. The hard part of a JZ swap is finding parts and repair manuals that have been translated. I made custom engine brakets so that the turbos would clear the fire wall.

ok so lets just say if i were to do this swap the motor out.
88 motor in 91 body.
1. can u give me a list of every thing that drives the motor?
2. i know i have to use the 5 speed and i dont care.
3. can i lay the wireing harness's next to each other and splice over the plugs?

one more thing can i take the tail lights and the front bumber off of the 88 and put it on my 91 will the bolts line up cuase i like those tail lights and front bumber better.
