Brake lightts remain on

Last night while driving home (I had to jump my car because of this) I noticed that my brake lights remained on. With the lights on I do not have to depress the brake pedal to shift out of park, and the cruise control will not set. Both problems I attribute to the brake lights remaining on. In order to get the light to turn off I must pull the fuse or it kills my battery. I am fairly mechanically inclined but I can not seem to find the problem. I looked for a short but could not find one. Any and all Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

to me it sounds like there is a problem with ur brake switch

you might want to check the connector or the switch it self

the switch is located on the brake pedal under the dash
