I was driving on the freeway and i was in 5th gear and all of a sudden my truck just dies, all my lights came on like the battery, check engine, oil, and all those flashed and then my truck shut off and i coasted to the side of the road. I have no idea whats wrong with it i went through some, well quite a bit of water that day, could that be the problem i already checked the gas pump and line and filter and it worked fine i also looked at my air filter and intake and that also looked fine IM JUST NOT GETTING A SPARK! can anyone help? Thanks in Advance!:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

out of the three ignition packs, i replaced the pack on the very right and it started up. i'll be.

surprised that just one coil malfunctioning caused your total shut down symptoms and as you said NO SPARK. maybe it was shorting somehow to the other two. i ran quite awhile with one coil intermittently shorting out until it got worse and worse and i finally could find it. the missing increased but i could always drive it. (sometimes i think this thing would run on one cylinder.)

are you saying you just replaced the one coil and not the ignition module also?

thanks

well it was a short, everytime i tried to start it my ignition fuse blew, so we followed it around and took off the 3rd ignition coil and it fired up on only 4 cylinders, sowhen we put the ignition coil back on, the fuse blew so then we knew for sure it was bad. and i only replaced that one coil

ah ha, so a *short* blowing a fuse does make sense. what fuse was it?

up above you said """ well i have checked my alternator, crank positioning sensor, timing belt, grounds, fuses and i just cant seem to find the problem... """

at what point did you discover the blown fuse? do you think it was blown all along but you didn't find it?

...just trying to understand the symptom/cause and how it showed...

thanks (and congrats at solving it)

my bro said a wire that runs under the radiator was the cause of mine. not exactly sure what was going on, but he got it running today.
