Hey I'm new to the smart trak thing, but I was wondering if anybody has put a switch in there truck/suv to shut there smart trak on and off when the want it? If so please let me know. Thanks

The Smartrac on your '94 Bravada cannot be disconnected without taking a driveshaft loose and maybe not even then as it looks like a planetary arrangment is in place.
It's designed to be AWD at all times on the '91 to '97 Bravadas.

All you would have to do is take the front drive shaft off so it will be 2wheel drive. thats what i do to get better gas milage.:smokin:

The gain in mileage is minor and why would you pay for the saftey and versatility of AWD and then disable it. If you don't need or use AWD and want to go for economy buy something else.

I actually save 4 mpg. 4 wheel drive is useless unless your in snowy or icy conditions. Save on your front diff and cv's.

A 4 mpg improvement is outstanding but I have to wonder why?
I don't lose 4 mpg hauling a 1000lb. camper with my Dodge truck.

I've notices a big difference in losing mpg when i tow compared to my dads dodge. Don't mater what he tows he gets about the same.
