I have asked the same question before too. And the answer seems to be no. Now I have to figure some way to get an AEM bypass valve on some other brand CAI. Anyway, let me know if you come up with anything.

OK

is this what youre refering to?
this is a picture of boogies engine bay, featurng a Hotshot CAI with an AEM bypass valve. This is also what i plan to do on my P11, im just waiting for the parts to be shipped from the US.

In answer to your question, you can fit both the CAI and AEM to a P11.

I'm thinking about buying the AEM CAI for my 99. It should fit since they make them for the 98 Sentra and the Hotshot P/N's for their CAI are the same for both cars.

it should be the same, just check before ordering. You can contact them via their site, or thru any distributor www.hotshot.com

P11GT, yeah I've seen the post before, but it looks tricky and i'm not that smart :D Actually i'm just afraid because it seems like there are a lot of alterations that need to be made. Well let me know how it goes, drop me a line when you drop in your CAI.

no problem, its just a case of 'when its gonna arrive!' i'll post up the results anyway, probably to a fitting guide aswell with pictures.

Ive just taken delivery of the header and CAI today. It should be installed over the weekend. From what i can see by the bits that have come included, all the couplings are there so theres actually no need for modification. Basically, just swap thing around to match up with Boogies setup, looks simple enough to me.

Theres only one problem, in boogies picture, the mandrel pipe goes down beside the battery, i think i need to move the battery over a bit, and the hole that goes down into the inner wing needs enlarging. Can anyone confirm this for me, please.

I would have taken some installation pics, but i cant get hold of a digi cam.

Yeah, I think you have to enlarge the hole by 1.5". Check the hotshot website for installation to make sure. I just got my CAI as well. But I still need to order the AEM bypass valve. (i think i need the 3" ) Anyway, I've got too much going on so it's gonna be a few weeks before I even think about installing it.

jprimera -- No, AEM doesn't make a CAI (with or without a BPV) for the P11. That's why I'm trying to see if the AEM BPV will fit on another manufacturer's CAI. Sorry if I confused you :p

Well I ordered the 97-98 SE-R AEM intake for my 99 P11. I'll see if it fits or can be made to fit. Since the Hotshot CAI P/N's for the 98 SE-R and the 99 G are the same. I'll keep ya'll posted.

Keep in mind, the 99 and the 2000 are different.

does the aem require enlargening the whole by cutting?

Probably

i agree: probably. One inherent feature with a CAI is that the pipes are bigger so more air can flow to the engine. Bigger pipes mean you need a bigger hole.

By the way, I'm assuming this is for the 1999 model. I don't think AEM makes any CAI that would fit any of the 2000+ models.

Yeah you're probably right there too. I'm also assuming this will only work for the 99 P11.

What holes are you guys talking about that needs to be cut, and how do you do it?

BruinG20

Apparently you need to make a hole for the larger pipe so that you can feed the pipe through the chassis. That's the hole we're referring to. Atleast, that's what I was talking about.

You need a cutting tool. In another post, B-boogie suggested a dremel. You should try to get a hold of him and let me know if you do. I'm hoping he'll do a write up for his CAI installation. :p

OK I got the AEM CAI and I'll attempt to install it on my 99 G20 tomorrow. I'll take pics and let everyone know how it goes. I looks like it might just work.

BTW the quality is great and the instructions are pretty good too. Crossing my fingers.

The AEM for the 98 Sentra SE-R won't fit the 99 G20. :( The pipe from the MAF to the fender area interferes with the rad overflow tank. Then once you try and put the filter on the end of the pipe the filter interferes with the fog light. :( The pipe at the filter end bends up again toward the front of the car. If it would just continue to point down it would fit perfectly.

BTW the area the the filter sits looks pretty good for keeping out water splash from the front and the tires. Lots of room in there for a filter.

So I know a local guy here with a Hotshot CAI on his 200sx if he wants to work out some sort of trade I'll to that. Else I'll just go to a local turbo fab shop and see if we can't make a custom CAI based on the AEM with all the details sorted out. The I'll just sell the AEM to someone.
