You dont need all those expensive tools. "mycorollas" does those amazing pics with walmart or crayola pencils. i buy a $15 set of pens twice a year. Its the artist, not the pencil.

Yeah, it really depends on your skills, not the equipment. There was this story about the greatest violinist.
At one concert, a museum lend him one of the first violin made in the world. The violinist played the whole night beautifully and without any flaws. The people loved it and thought it was because of the violin. At the end, the violinist ended his piece, stopped, and smashed the violin onto the ground. Everyone was shocked and appalled. The museum later asked him why he did that. His answer, "The violin was the worse violin I have ever played with." =D

this is true up untill a certain point. i mean, there is only so much i can do with paper that is too grainy or pencils that are a wrong grade. but i don't want to end up with a drawing that is not the best i can do just because i wanted to save €1,- on a few sheets of paper. so from my point of view you need 2 things to be succesful in what you do, anything you do:
1) you need the right skills. this can come either from talent or practice
2) you need the right equipment. i am not saying all posted before is wrong, but having the right materials does matter.
