Ok well i have an 87 cherokee 5speed and my clutch fluid is always going low. I have to refill it about once a day and i noticed i have the fluid coming out under my dash by my fuses. Would this be fixed my a new master cylinder for the clutch or is it something else?

Yep..that sounds like the clutch master piston seal is leaking.

Might be able to get a seal kit for it. Or else you will have to change the whole thing.

i think the unit is called a slave cylinder, if my memory serves correctly

He said fluid is come from the dash area. The slave is on the transmission.

The piston seal for the master is in pretty bad shape to be leaking through the clutch pedal activation end. To be sure inspect and maybe just replace both the master and the slave.

Well under the dash there is the rod that goes into the firewall and each time i press on the pedle when i release it there is fluid on the part that goes back into the firewall...

Well, that is the actuacting rod for the master. The master is on the other side of the firewall.

Start by removing it. It is simple to do. You might need a line wrench (sometimes called a flare wrench).

Then either replace the whole thing or reseal it.

Use brake fluid to refill it. They sell clutch fluid, but it is the same thing.
