Hi,
You guys must get this question like all the time. I am sorry but this is something that i just had to clear up.
I am looking at both a STi Version IV and a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV. I know both these cars are very evenly matched, but I am currently very confused with the both.
It's easy to have all the info and specs but it's a totally different matter when owning and ddriving one.
Could you please post me your opinions and driving experiences.
EVO IV : 280ps/6,500rpm
36.0kg-m/3,000rpm
STi Ver IV : 280ps/6500
33.5KM-m/4000
The STi is like a standard car that has been tuned, suspension, strut bars, pistons, short-shift gear box, etc..
EVO is quite standard but has the AYC, air bags, Front mount intercooler, momo steering etc..
I am looking at the aspects of safety, brakes, power, suspension, reliability, comfort, availability of parts etc.
What would you all choose? (I know this is a Lancer Forum, so persuade me. :))
Thank you so much for your help

The evo is def the better car, but the IV doesnt have brembo brakes yet, maybe save up a bit more and get the V. The V is also the fastest of the EVOs.
The thing about evos is its a torque monster so it is alot better for pulling speed out of a corner, and also doesnt have the slow speed understeer that the sti has.
the japs cant be wrong, they have made their choice and the evo outsells the sti like 50:1 or something ridiculous.

thanks for the advice dude, i think i will be going for the EVO!! definitely!!
I always thought the EVO III is the fastest EVO???
I heard Brembo Brakes cost heaps to replace the Brake pads, but i guess you get the performance :)
thanks !
