Have a 93 taurus w/3.0, getting codes 332 and 337. Checked the egr and it works when off the vehicle, replaced the sensor but did not help. How common is a blocked tube or blocked passages. If so how do I clean them.

I'm not sure about the '93 Taurus, but other Ford products of similar vintage have an EGR passage that comes to the upper intake manifold just behind the throttle plate. I've seen these passages get plugged. To access and clean, you pull the throttle body and the gasket between the throttle body and upper intake. Just behind the gasket is the passage. If it's plugged, that would be a good place to start. Attempt to clean the passage between there and the EGR as well. This usually involves STP Throttle Body Cleaner and a 12 guage wire.

I had the 2-digit version of the 332 code on an earlier model Taurus, in that case the evr was bad... depending on where the 332 code was extracted from, koer or continuous memory, diagnostics would differ. what sensor was replaced??? pfe/dpfe??? Code 337,once again, depending on koeo, koer, continuous.. koeo 337 indicates pfe/dpfe signal volts are above test max of 4.8, koer 337 indicates basically the same thing, but possibly due to an exhaust restriction, this can be checked with a vacuum gauge, if not this issue, then possibly same diag procedures as 332.. on both codes continuous memory code could indicate a intermittent fault if it is not in koeo or koer portion of test

Thanks Rod, cleaning the EGR passage did the trick. going through the throttle plate was the ticket.
