93 Antenna Problem

One night after I turned my car off I noticed my antenna wasn't going down at all. I then pushed it all the way down although the motor which powers the antenna wouldn't turn off. When I turned the car on I noticed the antenna would only go half way up and the motor powering it wouldn't shut off no matter where the antenna was. I had to pull the #20 fuse so the antenna motor would shut off and not drain my battery. The past few days I've been able to use my radio if I put the antenna up all the way and pushed it down an inch (this is the only thing i could do to stop the antenna motor from continuously working). Tonight however, the antenna will not retract and is stuck in it's extended position.
I know I can remove the entire fender and inspect the motor + antenna, although I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas for a quick fix.

Welcome to AF!!
If you can find the ground wire to the antenna check to see if it is making good contact. This is usually the culprit in this situation. They corrode and won't let the motor work correctly. Otherwise you will need to remove the antenna and possibly replace the entire assembly. Not hard to do just hard to get to.
