i just wrecked my 1997 grand prix gt with a 3.8, i have a chance to buy a 99 se with a 3.1, can the engines be swapped? yes i know with a few tools you can do anything, but can this swap be feasable, only reason i would get an se is if i could utilise my now spare parts... thanks for your help

There are so many differences that it may not be a feasable swap. The subframes, motor/trans mounts, and a myriad of other parts would have to be swapped, not to mention the PCM, underhood wiring harness, etc, etc, etc....

Lets just say it'd make a nice can of worms! Your best bet is to try and find another car thats a 3.8L prix, that way you can *Use all of your parts*.
