i need to change my ignition switch whats the best way to it -wont start car

1. Remove the steering wheel
2. Remove the upper and lower column covers
3. Remove the multi-function switch
4. Locate the 3 multifunction switch connectors behind the instrument
panel and disconnect them.
5. Remove the screw that attatches the switch to the steering column
6. Carefully pry up the tab that secures the switch harness retainer to the
bracket on either side. Pull the retainers off the brackets.
7. Take the multi-function switch off the steering column.
8. Disconnect the igniton switch connector
9. Remove the switch mounting screws and take the switch off.

Step 0: Disconnect your battery
If you have an airbag, I doubt you want it going off right in your face.

Thanks moose, but there is no airbag for a 1991. They didn't start until 1994. But..........It is always a good idea to disconnect the battery when doing work that could short out.
