:screwy: With only that much it's going to take you years to get there. And then you have to factor in regular maintenance and all that jazz. Time for a second job? Maybe third job?

My wish list... run fine with no problems from now on.

Yea good luck with that 245 a month? Weaksauce what do you work at mcdonalds:eek:

There a lot of stuff you dont need and other stuff you do thats not on ther. First off, unless you're running like 8 second 1/4's the stock driveshaft will be more than fine. Nextly, that 2.3 stroker is going to be WAY too big for a big 16g. You're going to need to be looking at a minimum of a 50 trim on that big of a motor. You also dotn have fuel upgrades in there, which you will need along with some sort of engine management system. You should get getting some aftermarket cams as well, and a set of springs and retainers are a good idea with that. Also, you going to need a new clutch. Keep reading and doing research, you're getting a start, but you've got a long ways to go.

Also, you need to start working more hours or get a better job, like Dave said even if you threw all $245 at it each month it would literally take you years. I would suggest not having such a lofty goal to start with, set a goal that you can attain on your budget and free time, then go up from there if you feel necessary.

EDIT: Even when I was at McDonalds I was making atleast $450 a month during school.

Those numbers are weak... I'm bringing home $1200 a month and I'm only a janitor! lol

Of course now I know others are gonna start throwing down bigger numbers than that. Oh well. :(

My wish list... Can it finish putting itself together? lol

Ya Brian I still make more than you. Not going to throw down numbers but I beat you... and that's all that matters. All my numbers are bigger than yours :D

It took me nearly 1.5 years to finish my head. I wasn't making as much then and porting, cams... thats all expensive. Still more than that $2## a month. Where do you work?

2.3L you definentely need to prioritize this list. Some things that are not even on the list will give you bigger gains (like thor's statement about fuel system and an engine management system.)

I would hopefully guess that $245 a month is what he can afford from his normal pay. $245 a month is less than I get in disability from the VA. It equates to about 5-6k a year which is not even minimum wage.

However, The mod list you have. I would concentrate on the following things at the moment before you buy anything:

Tune up. Is my car in the condition to mod? If you car is currently not running, the answer to this question is no.

Your first mod(s) should be: full exhaust, intake, boost controller, and boost guage. Until you have those mods done, nothing else matters.

Maybe that's all the allowance that he gets from mommy & daddy. Just guessing here.

Between what I make and what my wife makes we bring home $2500 a month, I do about $1700 of it.

And that would be a pretty sweet allowance too.

I make 100 + tips a week bartending
and about 100 hundred a week on online poker.
And then subtract rent school and car expenses.
I lose about 1000 a month. :)

Set your goals lower dude. Calculating just the engine, transmission, FMIC, and turbo thats a modest $4000. Divide that by 245 and you get about 17 months thats if you save every penny. Make a realistic list first like tune ups, intake, exhaust.

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?

From like the 19th to the 27th or something like that, so like 8 days. It was supposed to be till the 4th of Dec, but thanks to our great mods they got things straightened out.

Not at all actually. Most people who take out student loans will take out a Stafford Federal Loan. It's a very low interest rate loan in which you get like $2265/semester and you don't have to make a single payment until after graduation. Otherwise if you have to take out an extra student loan through a bank or some other lender, then the interest rates can get a little steeper, but there are so many places that will give out student loans now-adays that if you do a little searching you can find some decent interest rates.

Hmm, and they make college seem so big bad and scary.

JoeShmoe
11-29-2007, 06:26 AM
You can get a scholarship if you're a single parent, if you're the first in your family to go to college, if you and you're significant other both attend school, for whatever nationality you might be, etc. Different organizations are ready to blow money on people that really deserve this.

gthompson97

If you look hard enough, you can get scholarships for literally just about anything. Some of them seem really really retarded, but hey, who wouldn't turn down free money?
