what's wrong with my airbrush

just recently I started modelling again and dug out my "old" airbrush. it's a Kager double-action and I'm experiencing the following probs:
it sprays water and thinner fine, no problem there. but as soon as I put colour in, it will only splutter and eventually don't spray at all unless I add more thinner. the result is that I can basically spray thinner with some colour parts, which is way too thin and doesn't cover anything.
I use Revell colours and Revell thinner and tried using different mixtures from 50/50 to 40/60 but to no avail.
when spraying thinner and pressing the air button rather long I also notice that the thinner doesn't come out even from the nozzle. the air supply is steady but from time to time it just stops spraying for a short period of time.
I've alread cleaned the whole gun thoroughly and I'm stuck now, because I don't know what else the prob might be.
I'm thinking the nozzle is bent or something but I'm not sure
any help appreciated
thanks,
Christian

Make sure your needle isn't bent and or dirty. Make sure your hose from the compressor is ok, if it's sputtering your mixture of paint is too thick. Dilute and clean with isopropyl or methyl hydrate.
Other than that ..... go buy a Pasche. Sorry daggerlee:p

It sounds like the needle bearing is worn out. It's a Teflon Seal inside the body of the airbrush that the needle passes through. Take the air brush apart and pass te needle through the body of the airbrush and note how loose or tight it feels, a new seal will feel pretty tight. This seal's leaking causes intermittent action as you described. You might have to contact the manufacturer about this problem. Badger replaces it for free for life.
