We changed the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, oil filter, oil, fuel filter, rotor bug, air filter (put a tune up on the thing) now it will turn over and try to fire but just won't start. We have already checked the connections on the wires to make sure they were well connected and even checked the firing order and made sure we had that right too.
It was running fine before we did all this. :banghead:
Any ideas would be appreciated.

What brand of parts did you install?? No disrespect intended at all just asking basic questions. Is rotor installed correctly, fuel filter was installed with correct flow direction. Are you getting fuel?? Will it run if you spray carb cleaner or starting fluid in throttle body?? Are you getting spark??

If the parts were made by Bosch, take them back. All Bosch makes is junk,to their fuel injection and ABS systems to their power tools.Did you put the plug wires in the right spot? and that will cause that.

Most all the parts were Fram, the spark plugs were Autolite, we checked to make sure the wires went exactly where they came from and even compared a chart to where we put them. They are all in the right place.
It is getting fuel, we checked that one last night and it's definatelly getting fuel and it is getting spark. It's trying to start and often sounds like it starts to take but just won't stay that way.

Double check the firing order. From memory, it should be 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 (memory not too great sometimes). On mine, #1 on the dist. is the front one on the passenger side, but some are the front one on the drivers side. The rotation is clockwise.
Also make sure the hold-down on the base of the distributor is tight, if it's loose, you may have accidentally changed the advance. Also, make sure it's not pushed flat. Repeated tightening will flaten them out and they won't clamp down tight enough.

Try this. Move each plug wire at the distributor ONE hole counter clockwise and see what happens. If that doesn't help then start putting the old parts back on to see what fixes it.
PS: J-Ri's memory of the firing order is correct!!
