Hello all I need some help on :banghead: Where's a good sit that's safe to download a Drawing & Photo Manipulation programs or saftware. Now I have bean to alot of site that have MS-Power Point (from) 97-07 some of the saftware is at a low cost so I'm realy thinking about just buying it as well (BUT) if I can get it with out the Big cost I will. I'm just noe goint to try an download something with out asking some one first if they my know of where I can get that type of saftware Free and safe.
I know many of you may want to know why do I need a program like this it's for making my own decals to putting up better photos of my models.
See I like the way some of you put up an image of what your working on with a small arrow pointing to aa even smaller images of some thing closer.
An if I need to point something out to you all I can put a arrow pointing at it.
So can any of you help me out.:frown:

The type of PC I'm using is a Hewlett Packard Pavilion with Windows XP. if any one of you all can tell me what works well or best with this.

Thank you all for reading: Vince AKA-White_R34

unless you're after full on image manipulation, all you need can be found in MS Paint that you'll find pre-installed.
If you want more, the obvious one is Photoshop.
Not sure why you're looking at Powerpoint.

If you're after an illegal download of one of these programs; read the user guidelines.

If you're looking for a photo manipulation program and don't want to pay for Photoshop, GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) is very hard to beat. It's the open source answer to Photoshop, so you can download it and use it for free. It will easily do photoediting for posting your build pics.

It can be used for decals, too- but if you're wanting to do your own decals you're going to be in for a huge amount of research on your own.

Well on the first point I was told that I need something like powerpoint and many say that they used powerpoint to make there Decals with. That why I thought it was the right way to go. One thing I see on a lot of sit's is not all program on photo manipulation are not all called photoshop. well any way I dont have any program that will let me chang the color of a work or images.
the only software I have is the Kodak EasyShare that came with my Z710 DC I can make some minimul decals on my MS-word but I can not chang the color of any thing.
But than's I'll to gimp.org an try that thank's for the link.

if it's not called photoshop, then it's not photoshop.
Changing the colour of things also isn't a one click thing.
To change the colour of a single element in a photo/image, you have to select that area and then apply a fill.
this is the same no matter what program you use to do it.
Photoshop just has a tool that can select everything of a single colour (magic wand) that makes it easier.

There is a free software that is pretty simular to PS..called paint.net
I've heard that it's pretty easy to learn...here's the link to the program's homepage that was supplied in a magazine:
http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/
I haven't tried this link, so if you plan to try it please use some sort of anti-virus software...

Powerpoint is NOT an image editing application.

Another vote for the GIMP. It's the best free image editing app available.

Thanks guys I got it I'll try both the gimp an print program's and I'll get back to you all an tell you what is my out-come. Oh yes i do have a anti-virus software on my pc so I'll go now an see if I can load either one up. be right back.
"An thank again"

I'not back yet but did any of you see my cheap way of making tunner logo decals.
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=744228
like on here I'm looking to make all the letters yellow or red or some thing not just black. An once I get a laser printer I hope once I learn how to use one of these programs. I then can make realy colorful an custom Logo's an decal's. But I get what you where saying D-Monkey you can't just change one thing in the image but as I read one of these site you can only if you have the saftware to back it up I don't so I'm going to leave that where it is for now, but I can free hand some cool looking Company Logo's an now because of you all I mybe can start making my own company logo's Like Willimo's Will MotorSports or some thing like that, I don't remember the right word's from the logo but I think that's close.

Ok I'm back after a disc cleanup & compressing my old files I then defragmented my computer. An then I went after the one of the programs first I tryed "print.net" I got it but I't's not working and it's not free just a free trial for 40 days. When I go to my add & remove program screan I see that the program is on my PC but I have know way to use it. I can't find an Icon to click on to pull it up. So it's going bye bye.
Now I'm going after GIMP.net to see how this go's. I'll let you know what come up on this one.

OK I got it to come up it's was in a weard spot but it came up.
Ok after I got it to come up it tell's me or send's me to a new site that tell's me to download some file an I do .........."MAN" after all this time it tell's me if I want to gain access I will have to buy it so it's gone BYE! BYE! now I'm going to the gimp sit and try that one.
