M45 Domination

Went out to dinner with a college buddy for his birthday last night, and was coming home from Dallas when I see a nice bright set of HIDs coming up on me pretty quick. It was one of those Infiniti M45s. Not that bad looking from where I was sitting, but I'd rather have a real M car. But I digress.

He was moving pretty quick, kinda bobbing and weaving through what little traffic we had, but not in a dangerous way. I drop in and follow for a bit, thinking he might wanna go. He keeps running up to pace me, but every time I would punch it, he would hit his breaks and drop back. When we finally hit this long open straight, he gets up next to me, holds it for a second, the takes off. I let him get to about five cars up, then drop into fifth at about 85 and hit it. It takes me about a second or so to get to full tilt, then it was all over. At 85 he was about six cars up. I reel him in hard, pass him at 110, take it up to 120 where I have about two lengths on him, and let off.

I shift back to sixth, and sit right around 60 as he comes up next to me, and holds it again. I give it a bit of a rev, just enough to build some boost and let him here the recirc, which with the intake is obscenely loud (and I love every fucking second of it!). He's pacing me, but kinda rolling on then letting off. I roll down my window, and just sorta wave him forward. He punches it again, I wait till he's 'bout a car up, drop into fourth, and its all over. I let off at 120, and he was a good chunk back, at least two or three lengths, and falling fast.

I ease on the brakes, he flies by, and hits the hazards. Whatever punk. I just give him a flash of the high beams, and let him be on his merry way.

Five and one bitches. I less than three the intake, now its exhaust time!

Cars should be equiped with rocket launchers so we can blow up anyone who thinks they won when they really didn't. Nice kill.

Oh dude, those Nissan wanna be luxury cars are such pushovers!
I beat a M45 from 70 to 120 with my old 3000GT N/A. The M35 and M45 are just crap as far as performance. Sure they are preaty and have LCD navi and wood dash and nightvision BS but they are just pathetic as far as what a car really is.....they are more like a hometheater with integrated wireless internet on wheels.
That dude owned himself when he bought the Nissan, coulda had a Bimmer dude, coulda had a bimmer!

really they are that slow? i mean most of the mag times i see they run 100+ mph in the 1/4. but those are all with the 6 speeds. I'm sure the automatics are a few tenths slower, and the M35's would be push overs. In every mag the M45 runs right with the 545's.

wow just looking at the drag times for stock m45's that people are getting on the track is high 13's to low 14's averaging 98-101mph bone stock on the automatic!!!

wow they are quicker than i thought. hardly what i would call a "poseur wannabe fake performance vehicle"

Nice race!!! Have you run up on a MS6 yet? I know you havent had that thing to the track yet but what are other MS3's running stock or otherwise that you know of. The reason I ask is I have been seeing a guy running around in an MS3 lately in the hood and I wonder if I can hold up to one...

Win or loose I will race and find out one day.... Nice run and keep the stories coming win or loose...

Depending on what you have run, and what he has done, it could be close, or a blow out. I haven't taken it to the track, and beyond a road course, have no intention to. I have no desire to drive out to Ennis and pay 15 bucks, not including gas, just to get one pass in, lol. However, others with just the Mazdaspeed CAI are in the 13s legitimately.

Race one!

They are really nice cars for the type of bloke who likes to dress like a banker, talk really loud on his i-phone in public and wears more jewelry and accesories then his wife.
Dont get me wrong, I like them as money cars but as performance vehicles they really dont measure up. They are trophy cars y'get me?

I had that guy come up next to me in a M45 on the highway once when they first came out, speedin up slowin down, laughin havin a good 'ol time...I didn't give it to him though, I forgot why I didn't, I had my reasons though. Just smiled and let him go.

My buddy DMC12 here on AF used to have a M35, it was a suprisingly quick car for what it was. Handled pretty good for it's size... I didn't think of it as slow.

It wasn't the fastest thing around, but it moved pretty well for a 4000lb vehicle. Plus the VQ35 sounded awesome in it... and had enough power to break the rears lose and do power slides and donuts. Good enough for me.

I would race one but reguardless of which M45 it was, it wouldn't stand a chance against any of my cars. :sunglasse
