Hi Guys, it might be a question sound stupid a bit but I could not find the answer neither in the FAQ's nor How to's section: how long should I wait with the clearcoat after fitting the decals?

Thanks for the help!

Most importantly they need to be fully dried out. IMHO 24hours is a safe time to wait.

I agree with klutz, i've learned the hard way, as per usual. Not letting them dry long enough. Sometimes there's moisture that you can't see! try the dehydrator to dry em out before clearing! Good luck

Well I'm very paraniod with anything to do with the body... so I wait 2 to 3 days with the shell in the dehydrator... nothing bad has happened to me so far..

I wash my models with soap & water before applying the clear coat. Washing the model should not remove the decals, but will remove any residual decal solvent. Decal solvents can effect clear coats if not properly removed, at least that's been my experience.

I've made that mistake too, not washing the body and messing the paint up, fish eyes, bubbles......I've made a lot of mistakes, but I'm grateful for them, cause one mistake pisses ya off enough to remember not to do it again!

Then again, i've also learned alot from the mistakes that other guys have made and listened to good advice from reading threads.
