Ok, i have a rattle wich the sound seems localized to the oil pan area, could be above it im not sure. after about a minute of idleing it starts. as i accelerate it goes away but when i slow down and come to a stop its there again. a couple buddy's told me it might be an engine rod or in the tranny, and ideas. thanks

It could be the converter bolts or depending on the year and the condition of it the ceramic's inside the converter could have been broken apart and be rattling around like they were on mine. I had the same symptoms as you describe and when i cut out the cat the noise went away.
