Try autozone.com, repair guides for info.

AutoZone does not give the removal procedure.
Does anyone have the 97 LaSabre service manual that describes the evaporator removal.
Thanks.

Wow, was this job labor intensive. One must cut the rubber cover that fits over the metal evaporator/blower housing. All is removed from the engine side.
One lousy bolt from the inside roughly in the middle and you have to remove many parts to get to it just as you have to on the engine side. I would guess that the shops would charge out ten hours plus parts making the job very expensive.

Upon removing the rubber & metal cover to gain access to the evaporator, I found that the metal cover had numerous rusted pin holes within. BTW, this car has never been in the salt belt and it rusted from the inside out. Since this area holds condensation and the car is eleven years old, I can see why I got the rust through condition. Ordered the part from the local Buick dealer, $57, and gave it three coats of Krylon black. Had to transfer gasket, plastic insert, etc. All is well.
