Can i use silicone sealant as mould material?

Can i use silicone sealant normally used for sealing aquariums and etc as a mould material?:D :confused:

My friend use it without problem for making parts for his tank.

Gotta try it sometime soon. Much cheaper and can be bought in smaller qty compared to RTV silicone mould compound.:D
