1996 Dodge Caravan Wiper Issue - Strange

About once every 2-3 weeks, my wipers will go on, do one or two swipes and go off. This happens in dry, wet, cold and hot weather. I just figured it was one of those first-of-a-new-generation quirky, glitchy things ('96 was the first year of a new generation for Dodge Caravan).
Does anyone else have this issue? It's not a big deal. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this and whether or not they discovered "the culprit." I've checked wiring and cannot find any issues. My clockspring was replaced on a recall, but this issue goes back way before that.
Ideas anyone?

Yes this was a "very" common problem on those era vans with all kinds of TSB's for the problem. Usually the replacement of the wiper stalk will fix this but if it doesn't then you are looking at a whole new wiper motor .
