Depends what kind of shape the motor and everything is in... Could run anywhere from a 14.0 to a 17.0... Just depends on how good it's running still and how ya drive it.

well the 2 gear grinds itself,i think theres a bushing worn out some where, thats what ive been hearing from friends and reading on other sites about these cars.
all i do is just take it slow through the gear and slam the others

You might want to get that fixed before you go racing the car.

Arent you the guy that was telling us about how he would be doing 6k dumps all the time too? Tell ya what dude, I dont need two guesses why your tranny is going to shit now.
I think they were rated at low 15's stock. There was that one guy though, I forgot his name, but he ran a 13.7 on a car with nothing but a boost controller and a 3" exhaust.

yes im the guy,but i have since learned that that was a horrible way to launch,so i just do it regularly without no dumps going on here.
yeah i said screw looking for clutch help, and just bought luk, might as well start researching instead of taking words from people.

The tranny is probably grinding into gear because of a bad synchro inside of the tranny, not a bushing. And I always thought that the stock 1/4 mile was 14.9?

Well my bud has a stock 2g and we took it to the track and it ran a high 15 so I dunno.

Huh I guess I don't know either, but just as earlier stated it all depends on how well the car runs at the time, mileage, and of course the driver.

I know this isn't on a car. But when I worked on helos we had a component on there called a flux capacitor. It was basicly just a magnetic compass that the helicopter used in one of it's non-gps nav systems.

Every Stock AWD eclipse/Eagle/Talon i have ever seen run was runnning about 15's. Not too bad for a stock car in my opinion

yea i gotta agree I don't really see stock dsm's doing better than 15's. it just seems kinda bullshit when people say like a good driver can get a full weight stock dsm in the 14's... I know a ton of people with nice setups with 14's car. Like i want them to be fast but I think we just gotta be realistic and say stock we are 15's but modified.......
we are faster than you

If there are guys out there that claim that they can make a stock dsm do 14s then they are full of shit. But I think that if a perfect race car driver drives a DSM and pulls a 14.9 in perfect conditions, then that is what our cars max stock 1/4 mile is but just to assume that the driver doesn't make a BIG difference is crazy.

Eh..to me the car is only as good as the driver so...yeah. like when the evo7 and sti battles were taking place out at RMR here in salt lake some people were hitting 13.5 , some higher in the high 14's , some lower and the fastest one unmodified ended up running a 13.3.
steviek
12-02-2007, 01:37 PM
was that an evo or an sti that did it in 13.3?
