I changed my dash in my 1990 caravan to a 1992 dash used the original wireing harness and had no problems for around 6 months.one day I had a problem with my ignition not getting power so i was checking wires grounds hooked a ground strap up from fire wall to steel frame work on dash all conectors were tight and joined ended up being a relay. :screwy: Changed the relay and when i connected the battery back up all of a sudden no power to my ignition again checked relays all good.when I turn on key my windows work power windows but nothing else so I ran a hot wire with a fuse to the ignition wire under hood and put a switch on it if switch is on it works fine and I can live with that but now my tranny is stuck in limp mode I think:rolleyes: maybe there was a power surge that might have fried the trany seleniod on the trany any advise????????????????????????????????????????//:banghead:

Hi, I can't even venture a guess as to where it's at, But you have an open circuit somewhere, How about the old deal about let's twist, turn, push, and pull on any harness you can reach....It works,,, Good Luck, Clay.....

Well with some more investigating I was checking my fuse links and all though there were no visable burnt lines I was feeling around with the wires and i do beleive I might have fouind one that is burnt inside with no visable apperance on the wire aas when I ran my finger nail along it there seems to be no wire for about half a inch on one will check this morning and if found to be the one and tranny works again and all will inform this post, wish me luck:naughty:

I assume you have a 4 speed transmission (PRND3L)
Here is a site that may be of interest to you:http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/10/cd/c8/0900823d8010cdc8/repairInfoPages.htm
I am not sure what you mean by modulator? The Transmission Control Module should be located on the passenger side firewall. Also check the input and output sensors on the transmission. The solenoid pack is just above the oil pan toward front of vehicle.
Here is another site showing transmission compenate locations:

Hope this helps

Hope this helps ya it is the 4 speed now here is the point where i am at i have power to the neutral plugin on tranny but no power to the prnd3l end that plugsinto tranny tried trceing wires plugged in the turbine plugin as it was just laying there still no power to the connection. I was wondering if any of the larfger black fuse relays above the fuse panel in cabby lower dash have anything to do with my tranny as when i looked at the replacement tranny spark control one it sure looks like the one in the picture on autozone??any help letting me know if any of those fuse relays in the dash do anything to my tranny would be greatly appreciated:banghead:
