Reprogramming remote - help please!

I have a Black Widow 2 button system which came with my '95 Civic when I got the car used. The buttons on the remote are getting flaky, don't always work when pushed, have to mash hard on them.:banghead: The FCC # J5523518T1 shows it's a 304 MHz remote, PTX3 is on the circuit card, the housing is listed as DELTA 2B

It looks exactly like the first remote at the top in this page. The keyring hole in the case is snapped, may get a fresh case for $15. Need a small piece of chain or mini cable to clip to my keys, split ring strains the plastic and it eventually breaks off.:runaround:

First, I did the obvious and put a fresh battery in, no improvement. The spare unit I have lost it's programming, so I need instructions on how to re-program it. If I could cannibal the PCB button switches off another unit it would work, but might risk losing the program on my only working unit.:eek7:

Anybody tinkered with one of these?

I believe I found out the right way to reprogram the remote. Black Widow refers to this as Code Learning. I thought you had to have a dealer do some voodoo magic procedure that only they can do :screwy:. I found instructions on Black Widows' site

http://www.blackwidowsecurity.com/manuals.htm

Looking at the install manuals for various models (I don't remember which one is in my car), the Code Learning procedure appears to be the same for almost all models. Mine uses the 2 button remote, buttons are black hard plastic, teardrop shape, white plastic LED lens cover, large molded keyring loop molded into lower left of case. Remote has "textured" molded finish with Black Widow logo on front.

Code Learning Mode: Your system will keep in memory codes for up to 3 different remotes. To enter the code learning mode:
Turn your key ON, OFF, ON, OFF, ON within 5 seconds (leave ON 3rd time).
You will hear a single chirp, LED will flash once.Within 5 seconds press valet/override switch and hold. You will hear 3 chirps. Release switch. Within 5 seconds, press up to 3 different remote controls' Button # 1 that you desire to operate the system.

NOTE: When the system is in the Code Learning mode, it will drop all
remotes that were previously programmed in the system.
These steps must be completed quickly or you will not enter Code Learning Mode, or remotes will not be programmed.
