I have a 1989 Jeep Cherokee and latley it has been idleing at around 2000 and i know it should be way lower. When it is really cold out it will idle between 1000 and 1500. I was thinking it had to do with the choke maby its stuck or something or maby im totally wrong. What should i do? Is there some way to check the choke? or is there something else wrong with it?

I would check the IAC or TPS sensors on the throttle body. It also wouldn't hurt to check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail.
