Yup. I know many. The moderators here will hit us all with sticks if we talk about it, though.

Blower? Turbo? What kind of animal are you wanting to create? You DO understand, the Pontiac has been out of production since 1978, right? This is not to disuade you. On the contrary! Just making sure you understand from the start, certain parts and procedures common to the "corporate" Gm engines (Chevys), are NOT common to the old Injun (we affectionately refer to the traditional Pontiac V8 as the "Injun engine").

First things first. Get to a book store and get a copy of Jim Hand's "How to Build Max-performance Pontiac V8s", published by SA Designs. We wrote this book and it was released in Fall of '04. It is the only "current" study of the Injun out there right now. Some of the old books are still floating around (HO Racing's and Pete McCarthy's). Much of the data is still good in them, but none of the aftermarket offerings were available back when those books were written (mid '70s). They are, not unlike the Pontiac itself, considered obsolete. But, unlike the books, the Pontiac is baaaaaaacccccckkk........!!

We're in process of finishing a T/A F/C with Pontiac power. It sports 475 CID (4.350 bore by 4" stroke). About the only "production" parts for it are the timing cover (Moon Racing Equipment) and the valley cover. We had to fabricate the blower intake, the mountings for the distributor and fuel pump, engine plates, headers, etc. I have yet to make it, but we also need a "stub shaft" to drive the oil pump (the blower hangs over where the distributor would be), not unlike the ones used in the DIS versions of 3.1 and 3.4 GM 60 deg. V6s.

Welcome to the Pontiac "world", dude. E-mail me and we can chat about this thang!!!
