Engine Swap

How much trouble would it be to swap out the existing 3.2L from a 94 Passport 4x4 in exchange for one from a 00 Honda Passport 4x4 3.2L? Is this even possible, and since the 94 model transfer case has a manual 4x4 shifter can it be retained rather than using the 00 transfer case with electric pushbutton selection?

Anything is possible but this could turn into way more work than you want. Just swapping engines is only the tip of the iceburg of things that will need to be done. Now, if you wanted to you might be able to strip the engines down to the long block and retain all of the 94 electronics and fuel system. Otherwise, you are going from an OBD 1 system to OBD 2 so you would at least be required to swap the computer and the engine wiring harnesses to make the complete 00 engine work.

I assumed that the computer and wiring harness would have to be changed. Whether or not the 00 motor/transmission will will fit w/out extreme modification (like new mounts) is my next question as well as the issue with the transfer case.
