I have dual, manual climate control for the passengar and drivers side on my 2000 Buick Century. The passengar side blows hot when selected and cold when selected. The drivers side operates much the same except it doesn't get cold. It gets to a "cool state " but not cold like the passengars side. If I take the slide control up to hot it gets hot...all the way down, cool but not cold. Almost like outside temp. I checked the resistance in the slide controls and both go to about 3 ohms on the low end and 4M on the high end. Any suggestions. I don't really want to take the dash apart to see if a vent is not closing all the way. Is there anything else I should check or suggestions out there?
Thanks in advance.......

You may be low on refrigerant. The way the system is designed, as you get low on refrigerant, only half of the evap will get cold, and it happens to be the half that feeds the passenger side.

Thanks for the reply richtazz. I wouldn't have thought that in a million. I'll give it check and see if it's low.

Checked the freon level and it was in normal operating range. Added a can anyway just to bring to higher side of "full" on the gauge. Same result , the passenger side is still blowing cold and the drivers side is cool but not cold. Any more suggestions would be appreciated.

A common problem is the respective temperature actuator which is being controlled via the climate control system head unit temperature controls. One for driver's side and another for passenger. You'll need to get into the dash to see if it is operating properly. Driver's side is located left of the the middle of the dash.

I agree Bob. Since the refrigerant level is fine, then the drivers side actuator is the most likely culprit.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to dig into the dash....is never fun.... When I change the temp the actuator sounds like it is down by tthe floor were the fan is but your saying it's more in the middle of the dash? would this item be visable or covered by some shround or something. Anything you can provide to help identify would be a great help...
