Refilling ink cartridge??

How many of you refill your printer ink cartridges or have done this before? My printer needs more ink and refilling them seems like a much better option than buying a new cartirdge every time. I have heard of the refilled cartridges leaking sometimes so I haven't been sure if I wanted to attempt it or not. Also where did you get the ink from?

I think you can get it from Office Max, Kinkos, Target, Staples, or wherever else sells printer ink. From what I understand you can do it a few times, but I had never heard of problems arising. I know that there is a store or stores that do nothing but refill ink cartridge, I would try to track down one of the specialty shops or ask Office Max or something.

Ya it sucks to do them yourself. I recommend taking them into a place to get them done. Will cost less and works pretty well. Even Walgreens refills now.

walgreen around here refil color for $15 and black for $10. Some how after they refill my color, my printer wont regonize the ink, so I have to go walmart bought color for $17 and black for $15, not really much on different price.

My printer came with my laptop so its a dell. And I would have to order the ink cartridges. I think I might go check out walgreens and see if they will do it.

Oh God Dell... Why would you buy anything from them? Lets use all proprietary stuff so we screw the customer into spending a fortune on things like ink, hardware and so on. Good luck.

I like dell computers. I have used a few other brands but never liked them as much. And plus I got a discount on my computer through my dads company. What brand would you suggest Dave?

I like my Dell, I just don't like the thing I got for free they call a "printer." More like a big paper weight. Epson printers FTW.

Since when do mods from other forums surf E/T/L?
As to the question, you can get them refilled for cheap and they should work just fine. I usually buy ink for my grandma's printer off eBay for really cheap and it works just as well. I don't own a printer because I print all my shit off in the campus labs.

That's why this section is an off-topic part, where we can post anything. Better than putting things like this in a performance section or problem diagnosis when it has nothing to do with those.
Back to topic, Silver; I prefer HPs. They're straight forward, use no proprietary hardware, not too much crap at startup out-of-the-box, and always seem to work. I've used their warranty service and have had nothing but good luck. My TV tuner took a crap and they warrantied it right out. Sent all new cables, hardware, everything with it. I bought a $1400 laptop a long time ago (first laptop) and still use it today for recording. And this is a 1.6GHz AMDXP with 1gb of ram.
The next laptop I bought is a HP zd8000 series. 17" HD widescreen with TV tuner & Media Center, 3.4GHz HT Pentium 4, and 1gb DDR2 Ram. This thing is like 3 or 4 years old now... way a head of it's time. Only computer then that came with a 10/100/1000 ethernet card, bluetooth, PCI express slot and every good imaginable. Spent over $2500 on it, and still use it everyday for programming, modeling, graphics, and all that jazz. Holds up great, built like a house, and I love it.
Even when I sold computer for Best Buy and Circuit City, we had the best luck with everything with HPs. Fewest defective from the box, and fewest returned. THey sell themselves.

HP laptops are amazing and you get a lot of bang for your buck. I love my zv6000. But their desktops can leave a lot to be desired. If you want a laptop, get an HP. If you want a desktop, build one or get a friend who knows computer hardware to build one.

What? I didn't understand what you were saying. You should take the dick out of your mouth, or rather out of your hands, when you're talking to us.
Anywho, carry on with the rest of the thread.
