Due to much use, my power window switch for the drivers side window has started to only work occasionally. Is the switch a fairly generic one or do I have to get one from the dealership? Has anyone used a radioshack type one?
Thanks

The switch for the driver's door actually houses all four (or two) switches in one unit, depending on whether you have a four-door or two-door.
They can be purchased aftermarket at the usual places (autozone, NAPA) or online (rockauto.com) just to name a few. Being that it's for the driver's door, it will be substantially more expensive than the single switches. I've never heard of anyone attempting to use a radioshack switch, so I can't really answer that one.
You could also get one pretty cheap at a junk yard, but not everybody is willing to do that.

I'd try cleaning it out before you purchase a new one.
Some caned air works great for blowing any dust or dirt out.
These tend to get dirty and or the plug connector gets a little corrosion on the tabs from moisture leaking in and causes them to not work properly.
Also try wiggling it side to side when it doesnt work. ;)
This link has some pics of the switch disassembled.

Hope that helps.
