I own a toyota lexen csi vp basicly a holden vp commodore only minor diferences.
i have been thinking of doing it up a bit more proformance wise other than look.
With only 127kw is bugging the hell out of me because most of my friends have fancy cars that cost to dam much an move a lot faster that some stock peice of crap like my car.
if anyone would like to tell me what they would do to the car pfrofomance wise.
money does not matter i just want some ideas
so far i have come up with a few things.
*Mod Chip.
*Vortec cyclone.
*Turbonator.
*VN-VR Vortech, Crank Drive.
*Extractors.
*Exhaust.
*Voltage Stabilizer.
*Headers.
*Larger Throttle Body.
*Cam.
After all of that i should have a fair amount of hp under the bonnet.
if not i will be a little annoyed.
If you dont know any of these things just google them
but that is what i think i should do so far.
Tell me what you think.
Or if there is other things that should be upgraded as well.
thanks
Tim

Any of the turbonator things that you put in your intake that look like a fan don't work. The engine needs straight, laminar flow. There are usually all kinds of things in the intake to make sure its straight flow. Spinning it doesn't help.
A chip won't do much but you'll feel it a little. Exhaust will be about the same. Headers and exhaust together might help you pick up 10-15 kw. I wouldn't change the cam; they're usually not the big restrictor, but I don't know what cam is in there.
A supercharger will kick a$$. Seriously. You could pretty easily add 50% hp or more, but they're expensive.

oh ok i was under the inpression that the air would move faster if it was spinning but oh well that just means im gulable.
yeah i was thinking of a super charger but i cant find one that will go on to a vp or vn. i found one that will go on a vs to vy but they have different engines so yeah. if i got a supercharger would i have to work the engine in any way ? making the pistons stronger an heads an all that?
or would it be just one of those things that you just bolt on ?
as you can tell im not to experienced in the car making/doing up
i dont mind paying 10 to 15 thousand to get everything done that i want
but i dont have a clue what to do really
because just getting a supercharger installed would be really expensive but it might not preform as well as it should an then it would be a bit of a waist.
how would i recondition the engine? because i think i should do that all before i start doing much

if you got $15K (don't know what denomination you're refering to) to play with, you can get a pretty dang impressive motor
But then, I don't know what can fit in these foreign car models that I've never heard of.....so i can't really give you suggestions. But as curtis said, these types of voodoo-like power adders are not only a waste of money, they have negative effects.

If you have that kind of budget to play with then sell your bastardised toydolen and get a real commonwhore. You should be able to pick up a nice Berlina V8, or even an old SS for that sort of money now days.
That will give you 165kw to start with, and a motor that has lots of potential to work with.
The early Buick 3.8 V6 in your car is a pile of crap. They are prone to head gasket problems, and leak more oil than anything the English ever made.
If your really hung up on keeping the Toyota badged commonwhore then either a V8 engine swap, or an aftermarket supercharger kit will give a huge boost to performance if you want to keep the V6.
There are also factory SC options for the V6, but as you said they are from later model cars which will mean fitting the later engine management systems into the car.

oh ok i was under the inpression that the air would move faster if it was spinning
It actually moves at the same speed, but if its spinning it has farther to travel. The shortest distance between two points is a straight line, so spinning isn't good. Most factory intakes have been designed with fins and screens to make sure the air stays straight and doesn't spin on its own. The MAF sensor in my car has a hexagonal screen that looks like it restricts flow terribly, but if you remove it the car loses power.
Have you seen the chrome-looking plastic that has little prismatic rainbows in it? They make bracelets and stuff out of them. One guy on Ebay is selling those bracelets for your intake and calling them "irradiated turbo charger that charges your intake air with anions for more power". They're all snake oil.

At a guess those will be Aussie dollars, usually on par with the Canuck-buck.
Roughly half the aussie performance car market is for holdens. Plenty of people willing to take your money.
