91 no power when accelerating

i have 91 2.3 lx and whether idling or driving you get on the gas hard and it loses all power. The rpms drop way down and wants to stall. If i let off the gas they come back up and its fine. Changed plugs and wires, checked to make sure cats werent clogged up. Getting ready to check fuel pressure. any help would be appreciated as to what this problem is

Change the fuel filter. And then make sure you check your fuel pressure.

fuel filter is new and fuel pressure is about 36 when not running and when its running around 30 give it gas it goes to about 40. any ideas
