blower motor resistor balogna

so i go to change my blower motor resistor, cuz its showing the classic symptom of being bad, i remove the blower motor and i can see behind the motor where the resister is mounted there, now i go to remove the resistor, i can get the front screw out with no problem however the screw behind it i have no ***king clue as to how to get to it, i tried breaking the thing into pieces, tried pulling it out with plieres and vice grips, then i finally realize its not coming out, so i say ***k it, wrap my new one up in electrical tape, and just leave it hanging there, put it all back together and all is fine, until i turn my heater of for 2 minutes, i smell burning rubber, since im not a complete moron i know instantly where its coming from, so i pull the resistor from where i had it tucked, and the electrical tape is just melted to **it, so im assuming this resistor gets pretty hott, so just leaving it hanging somewhere is now out of the question,

can anyone give me some advice as to how to handle this?? to anyone thats done this before, how the ***k did you remove that second screw, the one behind the resistor???

unfortunately my digital camera took a **it so words are my only option in describing this dilemma

On the screw that's hard to get out, Needle nose pliers worked for me.

The blower resistor has to dissipate a lot of heat energy when dropping the voltage to the blower at lower speeds. That's why it is mounted in the blower air stream, so it can get cooled by the passing air.

The front screw (nearest the firewall) can be had with a 7mm socket and ratchet, or the socket and an assist/speeder handle (the type with a knurled knob). It also helps to remove all the layers of floor mats, and fold back the carpet and silencer pad.

Incidentally, if you were wondering why your initial post was edited for content, you cannot write that word in any of the Chevrolet forums. You can write ”copulating”, ”mating”, ”fornicating”, ”bedding“, ”procreating”, ”breeding”, ”screwing“, ”banging“, ”humping“ (including the adolescent-specific variant, ”leg-humping“), ”dorking“, ”porking“, ”conjugating“, ”ringing the bell“, or in the case of Mitsubishi drivers, ”masturbating”, but you cannot write that form of the adjectival intransitive verb without expecting it to be edited.

Nice try, though.

wow, you edited the (opposite of heaven) out of my post, i gues cursing like a sailor is no longer allowed on these forums????
(bologna?? thanks for making me look like a vagina, lol)

anyways, there is definetely no room for a needle nose pliers, and i did move the floor mat, i did pull back the carpet, along with the thick foam type crap right under it, all thats left is like a piece of plastic, quite possibly the "silencer pad" blue bowtie mentioned, but to remove that it looks like i'd have to remove both seats, pull up ALL the carpet in the entire car, along with some other stuff on the sides and in the middle, and honestly, i still dont think i'd be able to get to it cuz that piece of plastic cant be much more then a millimeter or 2 thick,

i am still so fornicating lost on this one guys,
thanks for the second post blue bowtie, i like waking up and having a good laugh
