04 Cavalier and have had it for 6 months. I like everything about this car except for one problem. This might be a problem where I should lay down on a couch and tell a good head doctor all about! What bugs me about the car is the steering wheel is not centered.
When you sit in the seat the steering wheel is a tad bit off center to the right and the speedometer is off center to the left. I use to own a minivan several years back and it was a big complaint about the steering wheel being off center to the right. The company said they had to design it like that because of the engine and transaxle placement because it was front wheel drive.
It was very awkward driving position. I see no reason why on the Cavalier the steering wheel could not be centered to give you the better driving position. Same goes with the speedometer. Maybe my Cavalier came from the factory like this and the steering wheel just needs to be adjusted. Or maybe I need to lie down on the couch.

need some clarification:
#1 is the steering wheel not straight as in turning left to right that it is off center?
#2 is it off center from the drivers seat as you are sitting in it, thinking column and all should be moved left a bit?
if it is #1, then it could probably be fixed, if #2, then you may need to call Dr. Melfi.

Steering wheels can be re-adjusted with a wheel alignment. # 2, i have no idea what your talking about about the speedo.

Your wheel looks like that, right? Normal looking speedo minus blue lighting.

It's #2. I would say the column needs to be moved at least 1 inch. I'm thinking it came this way from the factory. Left or right wise it's straight. It's really quite noticable that's what makes me think it needs to be adjusted if possible.

Have checked a few Cavaliers and my steering wheel is off by 1 inch(The steering column needs to be moved left by 1 inch). I can't believe it left the factory like this. My wife doesn't care but this is something I feel should be perfect since it's part of the steering. Can the column be adjusted to the left? Sorry for the other post. At first I could not find this(original)post. Thanks for the help.
