Does anyone know if SBR's intercooler kit for the 1g lets you retain the a/c? Also, any words of wisdom from someone that's installed one before would be appreciated. Thanks.

AC is for pussies! But yes, I think it does. I dont think anyone on here has a 1g with a SBR FMIC though, I think they would be the best to ask about it.

Yeah I agree...100+ with no AC and leather seats is horrible...i havent had my AC hooked up and those days were really bad...getting out of the car and having your back covered in sweat sucks...the only way to cool yourself off is to drive down the street with the windows up and start sweating your ass off...then roll down the windows real quick...Ghetto AC...hahahaha

I'm not aware of any FMIC kits for DSMs that force you do delete the AC system. The condenser sits inside the radiator support, which is space that can't be used by a FMIC that's of any decent size. Wether or not you can keep coolant temps under control in the summer is a whole different story though. Good fans, good shrouding, the right water/antifreeze/additive mix, modified thermostats, upgraded radiator, modified fan control, etc, are all things you may have to look into. I'm pretty sure that the core used in teh SBR kit has worked for 2Gs with AC, so it is doable.

What fan setup would you recommend... I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to get something a little slimmer than stock to accommodate my 57 trim...mmmmm.

These help out alot, I lowered my coolant temps by about 10-15 degrees by rigging up some shrouding. All I have left is the Fluidyne Radiator now.
My buddy had a 56 trim with the stock AC Fan and a slim line radiator fan and had no fitment issues.
