illegal corner lights?

ok... i just ordered clear corner lights for my 94 max. i got the piaa xtreme whites for the first chamber and plasma blues where the ambers used to be. now i know that having colored blinkers is illegal in NY but is it illegal for corner lights?

its a state to state thing, call your local police department and they should be more than helpful. i do know that you cant have flashing blue no matter what. all in all i doubt it will be a problem.

I got hyper white bulbs in my corners and blinkers for about 7 months now, and I had no problems with cops yet. Since I drive mostly at night, never had problems.

nothing about the lights all around my car is legal. white bulbs in the corners, blue washer led's, neons, tint on the windows. i never got any shit for that in New Jersey even though people have told me i would have problems, i just never have. i think that if you dont drive around like an asshole all day and double the speed limit whever you go you will be fine.

i actually have a theory that if you get pulled over for speeding and you have something else wrong with your car (like the illegal bulbs for example), very often the cop will give you a ticket for that instead of the speeding.

I'm not sure on this but i was told that it's not where the light is on the car it's the color you use that decide legality.
Blue lights on a car are reserved for firefighters red is for police and EMT green is environmental police. clear you can't use cuz you can't tell when it blinks sometimes. i just used clear lenses with orange bulbs

i got pulled over for havin blue lights on my car and the cop told me this:

blue = cops
red = emergency vehicles
orange = construction vehicles
purple = have to be a funeral home director to have this legaly


i think i am missin one, but he told me that the only color that was ok was green, but when i went to court to argue about my ticket the possicuting attorney told me that u can have any ad on lights ( i kno that u all talkin bout stuff thats already onthe car) but as long as its not blue, they really shouldnt say anything to ya! and if they do, they should jus give ya a warning and let ya be on ur way. i jus got that asshole of all the cops around here the time i got pulled over!

Let me tell you this. I had Hyperwhite LED nozzles on my max for about 6 months and about one month ago I got pulled over by a cop. I got away with a warning. He said that color doesnt matter, but you cant have any additional lights besides your headlights (oem or aftermarket foglights). I just made a switch for those LEDs and whenever i go to car shows I just turn them on and thats it. Cops can be assholes but this time I got really nice cop, considering I got pulled over in Marlboro-NJ, where cops are the meanest pigs u've ever will see.

when my dad had a 96 maxima we had the hyper whites headlights and the plazma blue corners and we had them on for about 4 months before we sold the maxima and we never got pulled over for having those color lights.

btw: i also live in the nyc area, but im gona ask by boy who is becoming a cop about this he should no .

color is definitely the factor that determines legality. vw and some other cars come with side markers and things. a cop wouldn't know what lights are stock unless they knew every car on the market You usually won't get pulled over just for the lights, it's usually just an extra thing for them to screw you for once they got you pulled over

im not sure about ny but in fl it is legal to have white or amber blinkers in the front and the front side marker lite have 2 b amber but for the past 4 months i have hyper white bulbs in both and i had no problem. I hope i helped. :)
