OBD I with OBD II plug connector

I have a 95 jimmy with a obd II style connection (no compliant stickers anywhere). I've tried kragen and autozone scanners, their unable to establish a connection. Sure would appreciate any tips on extracting codes from this vehicle.

95's used 3 or 4 different computer system types as it was a transition year. some systems were still obd 1 but with the obd2 connector. an obd 2 only scanner will not work on this system. you need a scanner with an obd 2 cable that reads both obd types like an actron, snap on, etc. if the connector does not supply the scanner with power (like an actual obd 2 equiped vehicle) then the scanner should include a cable to tap power from the cigarette lighter. hope this helps you.
