Is it possible?

I was wondering about the hack-n-tap sye's. Alot of people who have done them have all had good things to say about them if done correctly and the strength of them. I know that the whole point of a hack-n-tap or a regular sye is to get rid of the slip yoke (obviously) and shorten the output shaft to use a rear cv drive shaft and help decrease the angle of the pinion without having to shim the rear axle. My question is this does anyone think it's possible to simply drill the center hole in the normal slip yoke without shortening it any leaving all the factory seals and tailcone in place. Then getting a cv shaft for the rear and shimming the rear axle to correct the pinion angle. Now I know this will not work on any major lifts of like 8 or more inches but on the smaller lifts from 2 to 6 inches would it work?

I've heard that anything is possible. lol. But, can I see it...

dude! I SOOO NEED to know more about what the difference is, and what and why.

I've muddled through so many posts and pages for well over a year now and have come to no real image-able understanding of drivetrain/suspension relationships and why/how.

aw shoot ~good luck
