02 Passat Hazard Flasher Clicks

I have a 2002 Passat GLX. After using the directional there is a clicking noise coming from the hazard flasher, which is also the directional flasher. I replaced the hazard flasher, but the problem persists. Can anybody help?

Can you specify on your problem. When I use directional flicker, the noise is also coming from the hazard flasher area which is normal.

Yes, Correct, the hazard flasher is also the directional flasher. But this clicking was occuring at random, without having the directional on, and not flashing either directional or hazard lights. I changed the hazard flasher for $ 26, but didn't solve the problem. I changed the directional switch, for $ 140, and the problem went away. At least for now. It was intermitent, so I'm hoping it stays away.
