I kinda feel bad. i use to get on the forum frequently, but with my new work schedule i pretty much only get on to post threads. my appoligies.

now that thats outa the way. i think i saw this thread a long time ago but i cant find it. i have a 90 si and i swapped out the d16a6 with the d16z6. now i think i remember correctly that you can make a hybrid tranmission with the stock CRX Si Tranny by taking the 5th gear out of an integra either 88-89 or 90-91 that way you dont pull around 3250 rpm at 60 somin mph. is that correct. i tried doing some searching on the web before i posted this but im only coming up with results for the B16a1 tranny. and if i cant use an integra 5th gear is there any other tranny i can get a 5th gear from that had a wider gear ratio??? im getting by tranny rebuilt in a few weeks and if i can do this i wana get it done at that time while everything is apart already.

The integra was a b series tranny, and the gear will only fit into the bseries. People would get a short geared ys1 and use the longer 5th gear from an ls transmission. I believe you can use the 5th gear from an hf tranny though on your SI.

You can use the 5th gear rail from HF on your Si, or if you want something a little better, put the final from the HF in the Si, that will slightly raise all your gears... the 'teg swap you can do is for better acceleration, you use the ZC final in an Si casing, and it gives you the best acceleration available from D-series gears. but you'll be pulling 60 mph @ 4k or better.

HF in 5th runs about 1800-1900 RPM, I have the HF tranny in my car. 2nd gear does 73 @ 6500 RPM
