Rear View Mirror

Does anyone have any idea of how to remove a rear view mirror, mine busted so i got a factory replacment and i cant get the old on off the glass bracket looks like it should slide right off but i cant get it any ideas?

Normally the mirrors are only held by a set screw. Try tapping it with a soft faced mallet. Hopefully nobody glued it to the plate.
