I have a 2001 Montero Sport SUV, that i am now replacing the speakers in. I was able to do the 6 front speakers very easily, just I am having a lot of trouble taking the back door panels off and still have yet to figure out why they will not budge. All the screwa are out, and everything is unclipped, i just cant seem to understand what is still holding on to this thing and dont want to force it and possibly end up snapping my panel in pieces. Does anybody know how i can remove this door pannel successfully or where i can find schematics to the door to possibly see what else i am working around?

the door handle insert (not the lever to open the door, but the pocket that u use to pull the door closed) must come out. there is a screw in the bottom that im sure you took out, then u must pull the insert out. the insert has two notches on the back side. pull the insert from the back side towards you, and then lift insert up and out. i used a curved plastic tool to slightly pry between the door panel and the insert. the ashtray and bezel must be removed to, simply pull ashtray out and remove bezel. make sure the screw is out of the door lever bezel, and the bezel is removed. make sure all other screws are removed. i can only think of two more screws on the edge of the panel. the panel has pins in it (wedge shape plastic pins that are pushed into holes in the door). the panel will have resistance coming off. pull gently in the bottom left corner (thats where i started). after a couple pins come out its smooth sailing. keep your hands close to the pins so that the panel doesnt bend too much and break
