tranny issue...

i have a 96 eclipse and ive just started to notice is when the car is in 1st or 2nd gear the tranny makes a grinding noise but when i put in the cluch in it stops and it doesnt do it at all in 3rd-5th. i have no clue what it could be. any ideas??

Sounds like a throw out bearing.
